Mexico City, April 6th, 2005
Kimberly-Clark de México, S.A. de C.V. (BMV:
Kimber) announces the designation of Citigroup as the
financial institution that will render advice and act
as its agent for the separation process of the Industrial
Products (PRODIN) business group.
As may be recalled, Kimberly recently informed the
general public of the strategic decision adopted by
its Board of Directors in the sense of initiating a
process with the objective of performing the separation
of PRODIN either through a spin-off that will mean the
creation of a new company, or through the sale of the
corresponding assets to a third party.
The decision is based on recognizing that the two groups,
PRODIN and PROCON (Consumer Products), have become different
businesses within the same corporation.
One of the important measures within said process is
precisely the one being announced today. That is, the
election of the financial specialists that will act
as advisors and agents throughout the separation.
Spokesmen of the issuing company commented on the objective
of consolidating two corporations more focused towards
their customers and to satisfying the current and future
needs of their consumers, thus strengthening the leadership
and strength in their respective markets. |
